Top cities for mosquitoes
Mosquito populations are booming in five major US cities: Los Angeles, Dallas-Fort Worth, New York, Atlanta, and Houston. These urban environments offer the perfect storm of warm temperatures, ample rainfall, and stagnant water, creating ideal breeding grounds. Los Angeles, Dallas-Fort Worth, New York, and Atlanta maintain their positions on the list, while Houston has recently joined the top five cities with the most mosquitoes. Expect to encounter Aedes and Culex mosquito species in these areas.
Terminix has identified the 50 top mosquito-infested cities across the United States. The list of these cities was compiled using service data from over 300 of Terminix's branches located throughout the country, based on where residents used the highest number of mosquito control services in 2024 in our designated market areas.
