Pest Control - San Antonio

I have had Terminix for two years. They treated termites under my house and I agreed to pay monthly for bait stations. I felt confident and mind was now at ease…Terminix was on it …so I thought. Two years later I began to notice my garage trim and front window trim looking a little like dry rot. So I went to inspect it…I kicked the garage trim and termite droppings came out. How could that be…Terminix was on top of it. I called Terminix wanting answers how could this happen. They could not come out for a week so I called another company…they came right away. They explained to me I had dry wood termites. Never heard of it. I thought all termites were the same. He said no they are not the same and the bait stations Terminix put in the ground were for a different termite. Terminix never explained that to me so I never knew. I was furious so I canceled with Terminix and told them to get their bate stations. They send David. David comes out tells me it was water damage on my window frame. Sooooo he did not know what he was talking about? I told him scrape the wood. So he did….Droppings came out…and he begins to explain to me they are dry wood termites . I told him I already know that. He then with a smile on his face told me that I did not get the package account for dry wood termites. I told him I was aware of that now that I know there are two different types of termites thanks to Stride pest control. I told him it was Terminix responsibility to educate their clients about different termites and as I was speaking to him he was shaking his head no. So I told him to get the bait stations and get the F off my property…. He left bait stations. Here is what happened. I signed up 2 years ago to make sure I don’t get termites.I found out I had termites. They treated a piece of wood door that opened to under the house. $800 for that tiny door. So They treated the termite issue and put bait stations. Every so often they check them the stations. . But never walked my property to see if new termites might have turned up in another location. They just checked the bait stations and leave. I know because I work from home. I unlock the gates for them in and lock them when they leave. Never thought anything of it. Present day I have about 5k of damage from dry wood termites so far and David told me they don’t check the house for dry wood termites only for the package I signed up for. Well…if they offered me a package of dry wood termites and explained it to me I would have added it. Stride pest control explained that my county has a problem with dry wood termites. And they will help me to get rid of the problem. It is going to cost me a lot of money but…I have no choice. This could have been prevented if only Terminix educated me on and about different termites. I parted ways with this company. The fact that I trusted this company for their long lasting name in this industry is something I regret. I guess me not being educated about different termites but hiring a company that does and did not care enough to educate or disclose on different issues I could have with different types of termites is my fault according to David. Do not use this company …according to David employees have been quitting and that was his excuse why he did not show up from 9-11 this morning { without notifying me}. Instead showed up at around between 3to4. And probably was not going to show up at all if I had not pushed for the bait stations to be removed which…he left a few in my yard. Do not go with this company. They do not care about the client. And yes I did use them at first for pest control along with the bait station but canceled the pest control due to still getting roaches. I now spray myself and no roaches.

Terminix Did not educate me about different types of termites. Don’t go with this company. I had them for two years with bait stations. I am infested with termites. Only for the tech to tell me you have a different package for ground termites not dry wood. I told him to get the F off my property. I Was never educated or explained about different termites. I told them to get their bait station and leave. Thanks to Stride I was educated and they are ready treat and solve my problem.

The absolute worst. Their product doesn't work but you are still required to pay. No matter how many times they come to treat the areas it will not take care of the solution. You will get better results spraying yourself using Wondercide.

WHAT A NIGHTMARE!! At my old house, I had the general pest control service, and the termite service. I didn't have termites, I just used them as a preventative measure. First of all, one problem I had is my bill quietly kept going up over the years, and by the time I canceled, I think it was about $240 higher per year than when I started... but I get it, businesses do that. It sucks and it feels like it was sneaky, but it is what it is. Overall, I thought the service worked well and we never had any major issues. They made it pretty easy auto-scheduling the quarterly visit, and should I have any issues, they'd come back out to spray again. Here's the reason for 1 star. A few months ago I moved to a new address, so I needed to cancel both of my services. This has been an absolute nightmare dealing with them to process the cancelation. I'm a pretty busy person, so I was extremely disappointed that you can't cancel your service for the online portal. Instead, they say you have to call or chat. So of course, I thought I could do this while I was working, and tried the chat. It probably took around.. 10-15 minutes to get someone on the chat, and I told them I wanted to cancel. They asked the reason, and when I said I was moving, they immediately said they had to transfer me to the "move" dept (I'm sure it's a retention dept or something). Before I could type a letter back, she had transferred to a new chat. I waited for 45 MINUTES for someone else to come on, and they never did. I had to leave work and couldn't stay on my computer, so I thought I'd try another day. I did try another day. Took about 20 minutes and got someone on the chat. I told them I wanted to cancel and told them I was moving but I didn't need service at the new house and asked them to please not transfer me... guess what? transferred before I could blink. I waited about an hour this time without anyone joining before I ended the chat. I then tried calling. Again.. excessive wait. Maybe 20ish minutes until finally someone got on the line. I told her the whole situation and begged her not to transfer me, just cancel my service. She said she was going to transfer me, but would stay on the line until the other rep answered and introduce me to them. I hesitantly said ok. Can you guess what happened this time? Instead of transferring, it went back to the main menu. AHHHHHH!! FINALLY, I got someone on the line that sympathized and said she would help me get it processed. I told her I need both services canceled, and she said no problem. It still took a while and of course she still tried to "save" me, but ultimately said she canceled the services and I was good. All in all.. it only took about.. let's say.. 4-5 hours just to cancel my service, between all the disconnect and transfers and wait time. Oh, you may have thought this saga was over *manic laughing*.. WELL GUESS WHAT YET AGAIN! One service was canceled, but I've been getting emails that I have a balance on my termite service and they won't be servicing the house. Not wanting to call or chat for obvious reasons, I've tried emailing an email address they put on the message. I told them I moved, I canceled my services, and that they need to remove the charges from my account. No response yet, and I'm afraid I'm going to have to call or chat yet again 😭😭😭😭😭 I would have considered getting Terminix again before I started this process. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!! This has been the absolute WORST experience imaginable. I don't know if cancelations hurt their numbers or something, but the customer service has been Atrocious. I'm a nice guy, I've worked in Customer Service for a long time, so there's no reason to just hang up on me or transfer me. I hope this balance issue is corrected soon and I will never use them again.
