Andrew Shayde: I've spent weeks living in the wild, and I love it. I love nature, and I love the environment, but I don't want it coming home. And that has happened to me through mosquitoes.

After living weeks at a time on Naked & Afraid, I came back feeling on top of the world. I was strutting my stuff. I thought I was awesome and unstoppable, and it was days later that I got sick with Dengue fever. I was sick for nine days and in the hospital for four, and it was terrible.

So mosquitoes and I are not buddies. We do not get along. Not a fan. Do not recommend. So if you get the opportunity to get rid of those guys, get them out of here. Let them do their thing far away from me.

Mosquitoes can be vectors for diseases, and Andrew Shayde, who is a survivalist of Naked & Afraid fame, found himself sick with a mosquito-borne disease: Dengue fever.* Shayde still loves nature, but mosquitoes not so much, especially in his home.
